Large Shungite Pyramid — 70 mm, Polished

The large shungite pyramid: 70 mm at the base, about 300 g, carved from a single block of Karelian shungite and polished. Shelf size — it reads as a stone from across a room.

What you get

• One polished shungite pyramid, 70 mm base, about 300 g
• Type III shungite from the Zazhoginsky deposit, Karelia

70 mm or 40 mm?

This one has twelve times the stone of the 40 mm pyramid (€8,90), and it is the difference between a desk piece and a shelf piece. If you want one of each, the Twin Pyramids set (€21,50) is €4,40 less than buying them apart.

What a polished shungite pyramid looks like

Deep black with a low sheen, and pale marks where quartz veins and pyrite flecks reach the surface — they are normal, they vary piece to piece, and a pyramid without any is more likely resin than stone. It picks up fingerprints; a dry cloth takes them off. It is lighter than it looks: shungite is about half the density of quartz.

Real shungite conducts electricity: tap a phone screen with it and the screen responds as if to a fingertip. Resin and painted stone do nothing. The full test guide is here.
