A carving in natural stone
The horse is cut from one block and polished, so no two are identical: the pale pyrite flecks and quartz veining that real shungite carries land in different places on each. A figurine with a perfectly uniform, seamless surface is more likely to be moulded resin than carved stone.
Care
A dry cloth for fingerprints. Keep it on the stand; the legs are the thinnest part of any carved animal.
Real shungite conducts electricity: tap a phone screen with it and the screen responds as if to a fingertip. Resin and painted stone do nothing. The full test guide is here.
